Do You Know- Piano Tuning is Not Done By Pianists?
They
are the piano tuners or the piano technicians who do the tuning task professionally.
If you
are taking up online piano classes, then you may have heard about the
piano tuning. That is important thing to be done for the right strokes and tunes.
But for that you need to take the instrument to the tuners.
Doing
the tuning for a piano is not as easy as it sounds like. It requires knowledge,
perfection, patience, and also some tools. If you have all the tools along with
you, then you can start the process as you want.
Various
tools like a tuning fork and chart, a chromatic tuner, tuning wedges, a tuning
wrench, plastic clams and a good set up of light are must. Besides many things has
to be considered right also.
The
process is discussed here,
- First of all, you need to set
up everything. Before doing the further steps, first we need to make all
the rooms isolated and quiet. Turn off all the appliances and close the
doors. As a noisy place is not at all recommended.
- Then the string needs to be
dusted off. A soft brush is used for this or else a cotton cloth will be
enough.
- Often a bright and sharp light
inside the piano is used, just to understand if there is any damage.
- If any damage is detected, then tuners set
the pin serially. Remember, professionals do at their best
Conclusion
Mostly
there is no damage when you buy a good quality piano for the first time. But
gradually damage can happen unknowingly. You need to consult a professional if
it is a serious issue.
Note;
An interesting fact is that tuners don’t know how to play a piano, whereas a
pianist do not know how to tune a piano. Isn’t that interesting.
